The building made stockings for sixty years. Mills were built for light, so every floor is narrow, the windows are tall and no desk is more than thirty feet from the glass.
When the last tenant left in 2016 the floors were empty and the brick was painted grey. We spent three years stripping it back to Cream City brick, rewiring every floor and fitting steel and glass offices that keep the light moving.
We are not a chain. There is one Belmont, the people at the front desk know members by name, and we would rather have 140 members who stay than 400 who pass through.
